A book written this year was co-authored by famous evolutionist Luis
Chiappe and is entitled Walking on Eggs: The Astonishing Discovery of
Thousands of Dinosaur Eggs in the Badlands of Patagonia. This discovery
that was made just a few years ago was really a big surprise. What they
found was the remains of a dinosaur nesting site. The big question was "How
did such a large hatchery all get fossilized at the same time?" Everyone in
science knows that the remains of living things can become fossils only if
the conditions are just right. Check out the story told by a scientist who
discovers any new fossil. Almost always they'll talk about how there was a
flash flood or something that buried the dead animal under a lot of mud. The
mud then hardened into rock and then you have the fossil. In this case, it
was eggs that became the fossils. In almost every case, you will hear that
the remains became fossils because they were covered with water and mud.
Hmm, that sounds like a flood.
You know, if our entire planet Earth had ever been covered over with a
flood, then today we would find that the surface of the Earth would be
covered with rocks made out of old clay, mud, and sand from that flood.
These old mud-rocks would be full of the skeletons and other remains of
countless plants and animals that had been destroyed during the flood. Hmm.
Guess what … that's what we find.
I meet people who say to me, "Well, everybody knows that science proves the
Bible is wrong." Really? They continue, "After all, the Bible wasn't
written to be a book of science. It was written to be a book of faith. It
can't be trusted when it talks about science." I'm not so sure about that.
The Bible may not be a science textbook. But a math textbook is not a
science textbook. A history textbook is not a science textbook. If I see
some science in my math book, is there any reason to think that the science
would be wrong? How about the history book? … same thing. Like the math or
history book, the Bible is accurate whenever it mentions science. It may be
trusted both in matters of faith and of science. Every way that we've been
able to check on it, the Bible has been accurate about history. Sometimes
we've had nothing to go on except the Biblical historical accounts. Then we
dig up the remains of some city or people that only the Bible mentions … and
there they are. Only in the past few years have we finally found any
archaeological evidence to prove that King David or the Philistines ever
existed. The Bible had descriptions of dragons before anyone even made up
the word "dinosaur" or "fossil." All of these discoveries only prove more
and more that the Bible is reliable. The book of Genesis is considered real
history by three of the world's great religions … Christianity, Judaism, and
Islam. Here perhaps is where religion, history, and science all come
together. Check out what the Bible says about history, about math, and about
science. The so-called "contradictions" that the skeptics try to point out,
just do not hold up when you take a closer look at them. I have to wonder
why anybody would want to deliberately ignore this valuable historical
record. Could it be because of the way that the account starts? "In the
beginning God …" Think about it.
